The Laura Ingalls Wilder book series is written and about Laura Ingalls Wilder herself. It is based off of the 1800's when she lived in a log cabin in the woods of Wisconsin and moved in covered wagon over miles of prairie until she moved into another log cabin in Indian territory. She then moved to plum creek and lived there and went to school for her first time in her life. After that she moved to the shores of Silver lake and met young Almonzo Wilder. She then began to go to school and settle in for the last time. This series is very historical and I would recommend it to youth readers who are into historical literature.

The Newberry Medal-winning book When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead is a very suspenseful book that I would highly recommend for young youth readers who are interested in reading a Sci-Fi/Mystery book. In the book, it has basically three different story lines to it, all revolving around the protagonist Miranda. Somewhere along the storyline, Miranda gets a mysterious note, asking her to record three future events and to write down the location of her apartment's spare key. As the story progresses, she gets more and more notes, and she has to unfold what this mysterious person is trying to tell her before its too late.
